ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Georgie, Debs' daughter! She's absolutely rubbish at talking about herself so I'm going to do it for her because I think she's just wonderful. Before Mum began painting, she ran Cambridge based Chocolate and Fudge company Calico Cottage / The Cambridge Confectionery Co. alongside her husband Nigel (my Father) for many years. Mum was integral in shaping the business into what it is today and used her skills to create and develop beautiful products which are now sold all over the world. She's also taught me everything I know and I've actually since taken over this role - they were some big old boots to fill! Mum had to take a step back from the hands-on day to day after the onset of a chronic pain condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. This is a hugely debilitating and often misunderstood illness which effects her day to day life in ways that are almost impossible to explain. Despite this, she found a way to channel it into something positive and still utilise and share all of the creativity that oozes out of her. When her body allows, Mum spends any time she can painting a huge variety of florals, abstracts, watercolour, collage or whatever she decides to challenge herself with that day. You can see a huge variety of her work on this site and also in her shop. I love seeing what she comes up with next and being able to make sure her art is available to everyone, it's too good to be shut behind her studio doors! I even managed to steal some designs for a Debs Baker Art limited edition range of chocolates coming out in 2023 so keep your eyes peeled!
